Puffin Class 2020- 2021
Welcome to Puffin Class!
We are the Reception and Year 1 class and we are taught by Mrs Sutton.
Mrs McMullen and Mrs Kingston are our lovely teaching assistants.
Our Topic For Summer 2 is What Am I?
Week Beginning 17th May 2021
The Puffins were very excited to welcome Animal Adventures as part of their Paws, Claws and Whiskers unit of work. The children all enjoyed looking at the animals and touching them. We got lots of time to ask questions which helped to increase our understanding and expand our knowledge. Have a look at some of the pictures below of the children with our very special visitors.
Week Beginning 3rd May 2021
The Puffins have been creating multimedia pieces of artwork. Have a look at their fabulous nests and oil pastel 3D birds. We can't wait for you to come into school so you can see their beautiful display in person.
Week Beginning 5th October 2020
The Puffins have been having a fantastic time in school and we have been applying our learning in lots of different areas of the continuous provision in our classroom and in our teacher- led activities. Have a look below at us drawing self portraits, enjoying our time with Ollie from Beat Goes On, working together to create models, learning Spanish with Mrs Kingston, practising our word building skills and reading together.
We are very happy to be back at school and we have all been enjoying our learning. We have been mixing colours for our watercolour paintings, have been using natural objects in our maths activities and we have all been working hard during our phonics sessions. Thank you to all the parents and carers who have been reading every night with your child. They have all made a great start to school life!
22nd October 2019
We have had a wonderful time having a Pumpkin Afternoon. As part of our learning about how things grow, we completed a series of pumpkin related activities including a pumpkin hunt with our buddies, making pumpkin soup, carving pumpkins and some pumpkin arts and crafts. Have a look at the pictures below to see our fabulous learning!
We love our outside area! Have a look at our cosy reading shed, our brilliant woodworking area, our writing area, our digger and construction area, our beautiful maths area, our mud kitchen and our stage where we put on plays and shows for our friends and teachers. We spend a lot of time outside playing, learning and exploring. This helps us to be become fully- rounded little humans and gives us the knowledge and skills we need to become really successful learners. We hope you enjoy looking at the pictures below.
